I have been in chorus since 3rd grade. I like the singing and the new songs and getting better at singing. We should make a goal to sing out and come in at the right parts. We should go over parts that we are having trouble with and in sectionals as well.

I have beeni in chorus since 3rd grade. I like being in chorus because I enjoy singing and learning new songs. One goal that we should set for ourselves is singing out and knowing our parts. We can reach this by going each part in sectionals, and making sure we know the dynamics of our parts as well.
JP30

I have been in chorus since 3rd grade. I like the songs that we do most of all. Have no one playing games or talking during practice. We can reach this by not using iPads or have responsible people watch to see if they are.
JP30
1/15/2015 03:12:52 am
10/10. A good goal is always to make sure that iPads are used efficiently. Unfortunately, my eyes can't always be everywhere and there has been a large improvement. Honesty and focus are important goals!

I have been in chorus since 3rd grade. I like being in chorus because I like getting to sing and learning how to sing new songs. A goal for the chorus would be to know when to know when to come in for our parts and how to use the right dynamics. We could reach this goal by practicing in sectionals and working on it as whole groups in chorus.
JP30
1/15/2015 03:18:30 am
10/10. Great job, EA7. I agree that dynamics are a valuable goal for the chorus to reach. We will keep striving to improve on them as we continue this year. One of the best ways to reach this is if everyone understands how to read dynamic marks. If we do this, we will get even better.

I have been in chorus for 5 years counting this year (and not counting third grade for reasons which I'm sure you all know). My favorite part about chorus is starting a new song and exploring all the different parts of it. We should work towards sounding better than Mansfield at fly up. This goal could be achieved through more persistence and less procrastination during rehearsals.
JP30
1/15/2015 11:58:05 pm
10/10. Good job and good goals. I'd reword it to just be about how we do and not really in comparison to anyone but ourselves. We can only truly compete against ourselves in doing the best that we can possibly do and persistence is the manner to do it.

I have been in Chorus since 3rd grade(5 1/2 years)The thing I like the most about chorus is singing and learning different types of music & languages. We need to work on cut offs and entrances. We can work on this by actually focusing during chorus instead of talking and by working hard.

1/15/2015 11:59:28 pm
10/10. I think people do focus in rehearsals and most people work hard. It will always be a goal to be a high level group and it's up to all students to lead each other in a positive way so that we can achieve greatness.

I have been in chorus since 6th grade and select chorus since last year. The thing I like the most about chorus is singing different languages and dialects, such as Swahili and Hebrew. We need to work on focus during full chorus rehearsals. We can work on our cut offs.

I have been in chorus for 5 1/2 years. My favorite part about chorus is hearing new music and listening to the chorus when we put a song together for the first time. A goal that our chorus should have is receiving a platinum at Great East. This goal is achievable because we did it last year and we are motivated because it would create a streak of three years of platinums. We can reach this goal by being focused in sectionals and rehearsals and finding things to improve on by listening to ourselves.
JP30
1/16/2015 12:02:24 am
10/10. Careful in your goals about reaching platinum. It's a great achievement to receive one, but it's all based on one performance at one moment and what the judges are feeling at the time. I think that doing our best possible work at Great East and achieving high ratings is better than saying platinum, because if platinum does not happen, then everyone will be disappointed when in reality, you have a lot to be proud of.

I have been in chorus for 4 years. I like getting to sing in a group and in smaller sectionals to learn the parts then hear it with all the different parts together. I like singing with other people who want to be here, and practice with others. My goal for the chorus is to get a platinum in Great East. We can achieve this by practicing a good amount and learning our parts well. Howeve, the judges don't know everything about our story and what we're really like, but it is a good goal.

10/10. Like I said above, "careful in your goals about reaching platinum. It's a great achievement to receive one, but it's all based on one performance at one moment and what the judges are feeling at the time. I think that doing our best possible work at Great East and achieving high ratings is better than saying platinum, because if platinum does not happen, then everyone will be disappointed when in reality, you have a lot to be proud." I have been in chorus since 5th grade. What I like most about chorus is learning all the different songs from different genres. A goal for the chorus is to get a platinum at Great East this year. We can achieve this goal by focusing more and singing out more during rehearsals and sectionals.

10/10. HG8, I like your goal, but don't always expect for a platinum to happen. We never know how the judges are going to be on that day or even if we will be up to our peak performance level. I think it's best to rehearse with this mindset because then we can reach an even higher level as a chorus. Keep up the good work!

I have been in chorus 4th grade through 8th grade in Hall Mermorial School and in 3rd grade in Center Elementary School. When I'm in chorus, the one thing I like to do best is learning different styles music. One goal I have for the rest of the year is to always sing with lots of expression to keep the audience engaged. We can reach this by when we are in chorus rehearsals, always look happy and engaged towards Mr. Phillips, so when we are in front if an audience, it comes naturally.
JP30

I have been in chorus since 4th grade and plan on continuing to be in chorus throughout 8th grade. In chorus, the thing that I like the most is when the full chorus sings together and it sounds very good. A goal for the chorus is to get at least one song really good, perfect even. We would do this by taking any amount at time that people want as long at it's over 5 minutes at home to practice this one song. (Maybe multiple songs).

I've been in chorus since 3rd grade. I enjoy working together as a group and participating in events. A goal for the chorus is to get a platinum; we can achieve this by attending rehearsals and talking less.

10/10. Good job, AD8. Attending rehearsals are important, but it's more important to sing out and focus during the rehearsals that we people are there for. Singing out is just as important as not talking. Keep up the solid work.

I have been in chorus since third grade and have participated in other choruses all thought my life. One of my favorite parts about being in chorus is learning to blend as a group to form one, solid, and unique sound. The chorus could work on expression this year, because we always tend to sing better if we are more engaged in the song. I think that will really help us to reach our goals and create the best sound.

10/10. AF8, I like your goal of blending and expression. You do really well at both, so you should work in acting as an example to those around you. Keep up the great work.

I joined chorus in 3rd grade in elementary school. I like all of the different song varieties that we sing. My goal for this year is to win a platinum at the Great East Festival. I will achieve my goal by working hard to song out in chorus

10/10. EG8, I like your goals, but you need to make sure to proofread your comments before you post. Work on singing out and you'll continue to improve.

I joined chorus in 3rd grade. I like learning new songs with different languages. One goal for our chorus to accomplish is to win a platinum at Great East again. We can achieve this goal by listening to Mr. Philips to make our chorus sound blended and professional.

10/10. AS8, thanks for posting. I agree that we should strive for platinum, but we should be okay with getting high golds as well. I commend the goal. Keep up the solid work in chorus!

I have been in chorus since 4th grade. What I like most about being in chorus is that you get to learn new songs and you get to sing a lot. A goal for the chorus is to get a platinum in Great East. We can achieve this by paying attention, not fooling around, doing what we have to, and keep on trying.

10/10. BV7, good job. I like your goals, but be careful when saying that our goal is a platinum, because if we do not achieve it, it means that we will potentially not reach it. Maybe something like reaching for platinum but being good with high golds or golds would make more sense. Keep singing out.

I have been singing ever since 3rd grade in chorus. I decided to go to E.O smith so i can continue my singing life. My goal is to get a planium and we can achieve this goal by using the right dynamics, singing out and not talking to other such as friends.
