This first post is due by September 19th. Your assignment is to practice posting correctly and answer two questions. 1) Click on the blue font/the name of the post and enter a response. 2) Enter the correct name. For name, enter your first middle and last initials followed by your grade level. So if my name was John R Smith and I was in grade 9, I would use the name JRS9. 3) In two or more sentences, answer the following questions: 1) Why did you join chorus this year? 2) What goal do you have for yourself as a musician or as a singer in chorus and how will you achieve it? Your assignment is to do the following 1. What is our strongest song? Why? (use musical reasons) 2. What is our weakest song? Why? How can we improve this? 3. As a full chorus, what can we work to improve upon most between now and the concert? This assignment is worth 10 points. 2 points per question, 3 points for doing it, and one point for timeliness. This assignment is due on Monday, May 7th by the end of the day (11:59PM). Late submissions will be accepted, but there will be a one point deduction.
Directions: 1. Visit the 7/8 chorus google drive at drive.google.com/open?id=1-cUp7JKxOU8AQFGqQk272nlv3BmwTnS8 2. Click on "rehearsal files" then click on "rehearsals 5/2." Listen to all recorded songs. 3. Respond to the blog by saying you listened to all of the recordings. Choose ONE song to write about in further detail discussing what your section does well and how it can improve. Please use measure numbers and page numbers of the music. To receive full credit, you must cite at least three different spots. 4. You can receive extra credit for going above and beyond. Model Response: I listened to all five songs. In the song, "Old Joe Clark" on page 4 measure 12, the altos did not observe the accents and then on measure 13, we held "stay" out longer than the four beats. The accents in measures 19, 20, 21, and 22 were done flawlessly. (Obviously write more). |
